Consultants and partners who had worked with PRIMEX across the globe virtually celebrated with PRIMEX on August 7 as emails poured in - either to send good wishes, congratulate the company’s pillars, or simply to reminisce the good times with PRIMEX.

Writing from her home in Newfoundland, Canada, Marget Davis, Social Development and Resettlement Specialist, said she regretted not being able to come to Manila for the celebration but “will raise a glass to a job well done from my home on the Atlantic.”

On a more grateful note, former ADB staff, Weidong Zhou, wrote: “PRIMEX was an important part in my 18 years with ADB and the Philippines. Without PRIMEX (Elvira and Jerry), I would not have been able to deliver so many excellent development projects and make so many memorable mission stories. The experiences I gained from ADB and PRIMEX are benefiting me until today.”

Also equally heartwarming was a message from Robin Povey, International Business Development Manager of GHD Australia: “By any measure of corporate success, PRIMEX has done exceptionally well in the cauldron of international competition. Considering the startup challenges, the limited sectoral spread of experience available, and the inherent nature of the competitive world of official development assistance (ODA), the amazing team at PRIMEX can feel very proud to reach this milestone and know you enjoy such a high reputation for integrity and performance. Of course, surviving this long suggests similarly high standards of profitable financial performance! Your team manages to convey the quiet confidence which typifies competence and success, but never oversteps the boundaries of business etiquette in presenting these achievements to clients and associates alike.”

Another message credited the remarkable values of PRIMEX pillars. David Thomson, Team Leader and Institutional Development Specialist for PRIMEX-implemented ADB PPTAs in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, wrote from Scotland: “So much credit is due to its marvelous visionary leader and President, Madam Elvira Ablaza, whose enormous capacity for work, attention to detail, and endless patience through tough and difficult times are legendary virtues. Also, her husband and Director Jerry Sison, whose superb economic inputs to all reports have given the Bank and governments a model and benchmark of quality for others to emulate. Then there is the team - the remarkable staff of committed specialists and support personnel whose pleasantness and helpfulness make it a joy to work with PRIMEX.”

A similar email was received from Suseno Sukoyono, Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia who said, “In the course of these many years, you (Ms. Ablaza) have made the company what it is today by dint of personal commitment, circumspect management, and your wide range of experience...and hospitality.”

A colleague, whom Ms. Ablaza acknowledged in her anniversary speech as responsible for guiding the firm into the international consulting arena, wrote to proudly express how he has proven himself right in predicting PRIMEX’s bright future as a top international consulting organization. “I am very pleased to see that my predictions of just over 20 years ago have come true in such a dramatic fashion,” said Gordon Munro of the University of British Columbia.
