The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) awarded PRIMEX, in joint venture with EDCOP, the Consulting Services for the Conduct of Feasibility Study on the Expansion and Improvement of the General Santos Fish Port Complex. The project started in September 2018 and ended in December 2019.

The General Santos Fish Port Complex (GSFPC) has been the primary provider of post-harvest facilities and infrastructure to facilitate the handling, trading, and distribution of tuna and other fishery products in the country and overseas. Over the years, however, the GSFPC facilities and equipment have undergone the usual wear and tear and now need to be rehabilitated and upgraded. This is important not only to meet the growing demand for the services of the Complex but also to comply with international standards for postharvest processing and export.

PRIMEX carried out a detailed feasibility study to serve as the basis for the expansion and improvement of the port’s postharvest facilities. The consultant team used updated and detailed technical, financial, economic and environmental information for the study.

The Consultant Team members include the following:  Mr. Guillermo L. Morales/ Elvira C. Ablaza, Team Leader/Project Manager; Engr. Celedonia Aclao, Port Planner/Civil Engineer; Engr. Lowell Rigunay, Plant Mechanical Engineer; Dr. Flordeliza A.
