Research to Understand the Impact of More Timely Post-Disaster Reconstruction of Public Assets in the Philippines

PRIMEX fielded a Researcher who provided the following: (i) assist the Columbia University Team in getting the municipal breakdown of funds disbursed after a disaster from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and other sources and agencies such as Philippine Statistical Association (PSA); National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA); National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC); Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics; Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Philippine Institute for Development Studies; University of the Philippines School of Statistics; Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG); Office of the President; Office of Civil Defence (OCD); Department of Education (DepEd); Department of Health (DOH); Philippine School of Economics; and Philippine Institute for Development Studies; in addition, meetings with the following agencies would also be beneficial; (ii) assist the Team in purchasing data from PSA, including the quarterly data from the Labor Force Survey (LFS) between January 1, 2000-December 31, 2012 and the Quarterly QuickStat reports at the municipal level; (iii) seek the advice and assistance of a DRRM Specialist and a Public Finance Management Specialist in setting up meetings and getting the correct information that the Team needs; (iv) set up meetings with NEDA, NDCC, BLES, and other agencies; (v) follow up agencies on the required data after the Team has left the Philippines; (vi) follow up agencies on the required data after the Team has left the Philippines; and (vii) send the data gathered form the agencies and other sources within two to four weeks after the Team left the Philippines.
