Disaster Risk Reduction Management

Sector Experience

PRIMEX has extensive experience in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM), integrating climate change adaptation and resilient infrastructure planning into national and regional projects across Asia.

The Company implemented the ADB-funded Capacity Development Technical Assistance (CDTA) on Decentralized Framework for Sustainable Natural Resources and Rural Infrastructure Management, Philippines (TA 7716-PHI) from 2011–2013 in Bukidnon, Philippines. After Tropical Storm Sendong (Washi) caused severe flash floods in Northern Mindanao, PRIMEX ensured that climate change and disaster risk considerations were incorporated into the Sustainable Watershed Ecosystem Management (SWEM) Framework Plan and the Rural Infrastructure (RI) Manual, using the ADB climate-proofing strategy as a guide.

PRIMEX has also contributed to regional DRRM initiatives, including:

  • Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Flood and Drought Risk Management and Mitigation Project (TA 6456-REG) – Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Viet Nam (2009–2010)
  • Northeastern Integrated Flood and Riverbank Erosion Management Project (TA 4896-IND) – India (2009–2010)

These engagements highlight PRIMEX’s expertise in integrating flood and drought risk management, climate adaptation, and resilient infrastructure into multisectoral development projects.
