Since its incorporation in August 1989, PRIMEX has a total of 412 completed and is involved in 32 ongoing assignments in a wide range of sectors. This includes agriculture and rural development, natural resource management and the environment, social sectors, climate change, water resources and irrigation, and urban development and infrastructure.
Agriculture and Natural Resources
Agriculture and Natural Resources is one of PRIMEX’s core sectors, with the Company’s ongoing and completed projects in this sector comprising over 40% of its engagements in the last two decades.
Environment and Climate Change
PRIMEX has extensive experience supporting environmental management and climate change initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The Company has deployed environmental specialists, climate resilience experts, social and gender safeguards specialists, and technical analysts to conduct assessments, prepare environmental and climate action plans, and support the implementation of adaptation and mitigation measures. PRIMEX has also contributed to feasibility studies, policy development, and program implementation for projects financed by ADB and other development partners, helping governments strengthen environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management.
Environmental and Social Safeguards
PRIMEX has strengthened its expertise in Environmental and Social Safeguards through extensive work with multilateral organizations and government agencies. The Company has supported the preparation and implementation of environmental and social assessments, safeguards planning documents, and compliance monitoring. Its teams have worked on biodiversity conservation, social impact assessments, resettlement and indigenous peoples planning, gender integration, and safeguards capacity-building to ensure projects meet international standards and protect both the environment and affected communities.
Coastal and Marine Resource Management
PRIMEX has expanded its environmental expertise to include coastal and marine resource management. The Company has worked with multilateral organizations and government agencies on coastal assessments, marine ecosystem protection, and the planning and implementation of resource management and biodiversity conservation measures. PRIMEX has also supported vulnerability assessments, climate-resilient coastal planning, and community-based initiatives to protect fisheries, shorelines, and marine habitats.
Disaster Risk Reduction Management
PRIMEX has expanded its environmental sphere of expertise to include climate change. It has worked with multilateral organizations and government agencies in the conduct of environmental assessment and in the planning and implementation of environmental management, biodiversity conservation measures, conduct of vulnerability assessment studies, and climate change adaptation strategies, among others.
Health, Education, and Social Services
PRIMEX provides strategic advice and support to government agencies in the delivery of better health and education to target beneficiaries through improving access to, and quality of, facilities and services; designing and establishing management systems; and capacity development among others.
Transportation
PRIMEX has participated in the planning, detailed design, and construction supervision of projects involving land, sea, and air transport in the Philippines and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. In these projects, PRIMEX fielded various engineers, economists and finance specialists, procurement and contract management specialists, and environmental and social safeguards specialists, and gender specialists to conduct feasibility studies, prepare detailed designs, and supervise the construction of transport projects, mostly financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and some through public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Urban Development
PRIMEX has extensive experience in the preparation of master plans, detailed designs and supervision of construction of various infrastructure, water systems, waste management mechanisms, and vertical structures essential in supporting efficient public service delivery.
Governance and Public Finance
PRIMEX has extensive experience supporting governance reforms and strengthening public financial management in the Philippines and across the Asia-Pacific region. The Company has deployed governance specialists, public finance experts, economists, and institutional development professionals to support policy development, conduct fiscal and institutional assessments, and design reforms that improve transparency, accountability, and service delivery. PRIMEX has also assisted in implementing capacity-building programs, strengthening procurement and financial systems, and supporting government agencies in meeting international standards, with many assignments financed by ADB and other development partners.
