Project Description

PRIMEX has mobilized international and national specialists to provide technical assistance (TA) and project management support to the Project Management Unit (PMU) in the implementation of the project. TA provision includes the following, among others: (i) preparation of subproject (SP) feasibility studies (FSs), detailed engineering designs (DED), cost estimates, technical specifications, and tender documents of physical structures; (ii) supervision of civil works construction and monitoring of environmental and social safeguards implementation; (iii) preparation of operation and maintenance (O&M) plans for completed schemes and support to MOWRAM’s Department of FWUCs (DFWUC) and Provincial Departments of Water Resources and Meteorology (PDWRAMs) in the formation and capacity building of FWUCs assigned to manage the tertiary canal (TC) distribution network; (iv) preparation of Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) and River Basin Management Plan (RBMP) including water allocation and irrigation scheduling. Project management and implementation includes work planning, procurement and contract management, financial management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), reporting, and the preparation of the required supporting documentation for submission to MOWRAM and EIB. The PRIMEX team is composed of four sub-teams: (i) Project Management Subteam; (ii) FS/DED Subteam composed of engineers of different disciplines as well as CAD operators/draftsmen and a GIS/Database Specialist; (iii) five Construction Supervision (CS) Subteams – one per province, each composed of a Construction Management Engineer, an Assistant Site Engineer, and a Materials/Quality Control Engineer.
