Data Collection Survey on Industrial Human Resource Development in the Philippines

PRIMEX fielded two consultants for this survey. The Development of Local Industries Consultant was responsible for: (i) identification of industries in Davao, Cebu, and Manila which have potential to grow in the next 10 years to create job opportunities and household income for the Philippines; (ii) studying and researching on the current situation in the industries above; (iii) identification of the gaps between the current status and desirable situation and the reasons/problems/obstacles for these gaps, which are related but not limited to, the demand and supply, quality, competitiveness in the region, human resources, environment, industrial policies and laws and regulations, in each industry and city; (iv) discussing all findings and insights with the project members; (v) proposing the strategies and methodologies such as necessary trainings to solve the identified issues centering around human resources issues; (vi) selecting three industries in each city and making a proposal to improve the current situation and developing these industries in collaboration with the project members; (vii) submitting the study report and making a presentation at a workshop. The Research Assistant (i) made arrangements/bookings for project members for meetings, flights and accommodations, car rental, and other necessary support for the project; and (ii) performed facilitation tasks, made contacts, prepared meeting minutes, and provided other necessary support.
