Newton Fund Evaluation

PRIMEX has fielded the services of an In-country researcher who is responsible for data collection for the thematic impact study using a variety of research methods and tools. She will work closely with a Consultant from Coffey to deliver a research program to inform the overall evaluation of the Newton Fund and will carry out the following tasks: (i) work closely with the Coffey country lead to organize, conduct, and analyze a research programme in the country; (ii) liaise with the local Newton Fund teams in advance of the research programme to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and productive research programme during the one week the Coffey consultant will be in the field; (iii) ensure informed consent is given by research respondents; (iv) collect quantitative and qualitative data using a variety of research tools (interviews, document reviews, and focus groups). Where necessary, supporting the Coffey consultant with local language skills/translation, or leading interviews and focus groups alone; (v) take detailed notes from interviews and focus group discussions or complete questionnaire forms accurately and with necessary detail; (vi) type up full transcripts in English from interviews and focus group discussions and translate other research material as required; (vii) contribute to the analyses of data; and (viii) ensure research quality and rigor including verifying data quality and conducting follow-up research as directed by the Coffey consultant.
