PRIMEX is providing experts to assist and help the lead firm in the preparation of a feasibility study (FS) and environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of potential environmental and social impacts associated with the rehabilitation of the Agus–Pulangi Hydropower Complex. Main responsibilities will be divided into three stages: (i) scoping activities will be conducted to identify relevant issues, potential problems/constraints and benefits, information/data needs, and important resources, as well as the geographical extent of the study area that will be subjected to impact and risk assessment. This stage will also identify direct and indirect impact areas, together with public consultations, information dissemination, and identification of impacts through the technical scoping checklist; (ii) data collection will include the collection of various primary and secondary data that will be used to assess potential environmental impacts of the project, identify the sensitivity of each project areas, and formulate mitigation measure to lessen the impacts towards the environment and the society; and (iii) impact assessment will give a clear understanding on the potential impacts and manage the consequences of the proposed actions based on an improved understanding of the ecosystem as a whole and how the project will interact with it. The impact assessment will develop the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMoP) as part of the requirements for the production of an EIA Report (EIAR). PRIMEX is fielding experts, namely: Team Leader/Environmental Expert, Social and Gender Development Specialist, ESIA Deputy Team Leader, Engineering Geologist (for EGGAR), Data Privacy Specialist, Statistician, Data Analyst/Processor, and a team of ESIA Technical Analysts.
