PRIMEX fielded an international Health Expert to support research and prepare key documents that would be used to process the COVID-19 Vaccine Project for Afghanistan as per ADB’s guidelines. The consultant provided technical expertise and advice on health-related matters during project processing. Specifically, the consultant: (i) conducted research and analysis and prepared Summary Assessment of Damage and Needs/Vaccine needs assessment/Health Sector Assessment and drafted sections of the Reports and Recommendations of the President, ensuring the project responds to the country needs and is aligned with the support provided by other donors; (ii) provided inputs and technical adviced for preparation of other key documents such as Project Administration Manual, Summary Poverty Reduction and Social Strategy and Donor Coordination; (iii) supported processing of the project, including consultations with the Ministry of Public Health and other key stakeholders including donors, assisted with the preparation of presentations and other briefing materials and incorporating of key feedback and comments; (iv) supported ADB consultations, assisted with incorporating comments and feedback and contributed to the work of the One ADB team; and (v) performed other tasks as assigned by Central and West Asia Social Sector Division (CWSS) and Afghanistan Resident Mission.
