TA-9681 REG: Integrated Water Resources Management Project (IWRMP): Advanced Works DED and Contract Preparation for Kbal Hong Irrigation System in Pursat Province

PRIMEX, as lead firm, is responsible for the overall management and preparation of the advanced works detailed engineering design (DED) and associated tender packages, as well as the implementation of the full loan package, including DED of canals and other works not included in the advance action DED services. The DED Team will prepare detailed structural, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical designs and specify associated control systems and back-up power supplies to ensure high reliability in operation. The scope of the DED will comprise the following: (i) A new regulator/barrage on the Pursat River (90-110 m wide) downstream of the current Kbal Hong weir site in Pursat Town together with associated gates, fish passage, electrical and mechanical works, control house, and public road bridge crossing; (ii) Intake works at two main canal offtakes, MC1 and MC, which will be designed to allow for future expansion to support irrigation areas beyond the Kbal Hong irrigation system and the river regulation level higher than that of the existing weir; and (iii) Additional works, which could be added to the DED Advanced Works, if proven feasible, such as: (a) various flood works including a siphon for the Kbal Hong MC1 at the Svay Ath river crossing; (b) siphon/culverts with access roads on MC1; (c) a new flood offtake structure from the Pursat River at the MC2 channel linking to the Svay Ath River to improve flood conveyance; and (d) a pump station on MC2 to supply a high elevation area of 963 ha. PRIMEX is engaging ten International consulants which is composed of Team Leader/Hydraulic Structure Engineer, Hydraulic/Structural Design Engineer, Electrical and Control System Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Social Safeguard/ Resettlement Specialist, Procurement/Contract Specialist, Hydrologist/Geomorphologist/ Modeller, Fish Passage Expert, Environment Specialist, and Cost Engineer/ Pricing Expert, and six National consulants, composed of Hydraulic/Structural Design Engineer 1, Bridge Design Engineer, Social Safeguard/ Resettlement Specialist, Hydrologist/Geomorphologist/ Modeller, Environment Specialist, and Gender and Social Development Specialist.
