HIS EXCELLENCY CHANN SINATH PAYS VISIT FOR THE SECOND CLIMATE ADAPTATION INVESTMENT PLANNING FORUM (CAIP2025)

His Excellency Chann Sinath, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Kingdom of Cambodia, paid an official courtesy call at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila, in conjunction with his participation at the Second Climate Adaptation Investment Planning Forum (CAIP2025) on September 03, 2025.

The visit underscored the enduring partnership between Cambodia and ADB in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable, climate-resilient development in the region. H.E. Chann Sinath was warmly received by ADB along with key officials from ADB’s Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department and Southeast Asia Department.

At CAIP 2025, the central themes underscored by ADB include: (i) sharing best practices in climate adaptation investment planning and shaping global policy discourse; (ii) demonstrating tools, methodologies, and case studies covering the full CAIP process; and (iii) fostering discussion on enabling factors to operationalize and scale adaptation investment plans.

H.E. Chann Sinath’s visit underlines Cambodia’s readiness to scale adaptation investments that make water management, flood resilience, agriculture, and disaster response more robust and sustainable. The visit to ADB reaffirmed Cambodia’s dedication to climate leadership and further solidified its strategic partnership with ADB in advancing sustainable development across Southeast Asia.

The CAIP2025 forum concluded with strengthened commitments among participating countries to scale up adaptation investments and foster stronger regional cooperation in addressing the escalating impacts of climate change.
